Now that the bandage is off, let’s discuss tarot or oracle readings.
What is it? How did I get into it? What does the reader do? What does the querent do? Anything I remember lol
So tarot or oracle reading is a form of divination. Like reading coweries, stones, runes, auras, etc. In my personal opinion tarot/oracle card readings are the easiest and the baby of psychic abilities. Everyone can do it.
Tarot decks traditionally have 78 cards and follow an original or traditional cards meaning which one has to learn.
Oracle decks on the other hand are free range. The creators decide the number of cards, meaning of cards, and the reader can just follow their intuition for their own meanings.
I ordered 2 tarot decks from AliExpress first day I thought to do tarot and haven’t received them yet. Was using the Meu Tarot app which has the Rider Waite deck for my readings till the oracle deck arrived. Yes you can choose to use a free app and not buy the cards. Ideal for personal readings, if you never intend to read for others.
What tarot does is bring into awareness something already known to the querent (person getting reading) deep within. This could be something they need second opinion on, something they are avoiding to address, something they sense may happen. Pretty much it’s the mouthpiece for your intuition. Someone connected to themselves and trust their intuition doesn’t need any psychic readings at all.
And that’s how I got into tarot. I wanted to build my intuition. Tarot reading is used to build up the intuition of the reader. You look at some cards, some story starts to form in your head, your trust that story to be from a bigger knowledge of consciousness and you say it out and the querent starts crying and goes OMG that’s exactly what I’m going through. It’s just amazing. In my very first readings I respond “Really? It resonates?”
It’s crazy I tell you.
I’ve found that tarot does have a mixture of external influence and mental manipulation on the outcome.
Our mind is marvelous, and so whatever we believe it capable of, it happens or we attract.
If you get a reading and you are told you are gonna win an exam, you believe it, your mind focuses on it, you unconsciously prepare for the exam so you do win, and you attract and manifest that desire. Same way if the reading did say you will fail that exam, you are likely unconsciously going to attract it because you’ve believed a super power said so.
Main thing to remember when getting a tarot reading or any other readings for that matter is that we make our own destinies. Nothing is set in stone. Sure we don’t really control everything, but we still get to make choices, have free will. Your believe in the reading is the main power. If it’s negative, opposes your own understanding, then totally ignore it.
I also find that people naturally seek to prove there’s a bigger external power and want to feel some obvious kinda influence of that power on them, even for the skeptical. So when people get a reading, they are hoping somewhere deep within that it resonates, that it’s accurate, so whatever they are told or shown, their minds look up things from their experiences to connect it with. Sometimes one see the image on the card and their minds immediately go to something that resonates with them, so though the reader may not interpret the card as such, they will still believe it resonated because of the image and what it means to them. Of course sometimes whatever comes out doesn’t resonate at all and one just can’t deny that.
Then there is the more common thing of a stranger telling you things that literally happened/happening to you without you having ever shared anything with them. That’s where tarot is not just the power of the mind. And that’s what commonly happens in a reading. As I said, usually it brings into attention something already known to the querent. Most times you’d get a reading, you will already know what is said. That’s how you know if it resonates or not.
Yes tarot predicts the future, but not as much as establishing the current situation. Because the future is not known. Our current actions put it into play, and any change in the present will change the future.
Tarot can predict the future in the same way you can look at a drug addict and predict they’d be in rehab before the year ends, based on their current situation. But if that addict make lifestyle changes, they may not need rehab after all.
To be able to to read people you know nothing about accurately, you need to trust your inner guidance, and sometimes guidance form others in spirit. From those free of the human body and it’s limitations. Spirits are privy to the universal consciousness because we are all one, and can access pretty much all information.
Most readers work with ancestors, spirit guides/angels, deities, the Divine (God).
I strongly believe that one shouldn’t get readings too often. For one it’s a way to live ahead and not let things naturally unfold. Two, that can lead to an over-reliance on something external controlling your every action, instead of exercising one’s free will.
However from the small readings I’ve done for others and received myself, tarot does help in guiding actions, and usually in the needed direction. It’s like when one is encouraged to take everything to God in prayer. A prayer is a communication with one’s god, and aside the more common idea of praying and waiting for answer later, this communication can be instant back and forth. That’s how most psychic readings work. So in a sense getting frequent readings is very much like taking everything to God, trusting that the guidance received is in one’s own good.
A friend brought to my attention why he doesn’t like any form of readings or prophecy no matter where it is coming from, and the important point he made is that it leads to a distance in relationship between oneself and God. As the one getting the reading or guidance depends on the reader or pastor to mediate their communication with God, forgetting they can do this themselves. This point I find is very important. As a reader my communication with God is strengthened. But I encourage the querent/seeker to establish that connection with God and go to God directly, only seeking readings when they are feeling lost or clouded by personal issues shadowing what they may be receiving from God.
Tarot reading now does not require the reader to follow specific spreads or let the querent shuffle the deck or cut them. One can pretty much go about it anyway they see fit and will likely still connect with the querent. The main thing is to have the querent in mind, and their question if they have any when shuffling the cards.
If you want a reading, you can choose to get one in person or to get one online. That can be through video, phone call, voice notes, messenger or email. You just have to find a reader you trust and connect with.
A reader can get to know a lot about the querent, hence there must be trust and confidentiality. The reader must be careful their choice of words and message they give, especially to more sensitive querents. And to be careful not to try and use readings to manipulate people into doing what the reader want.
Readings are not free lol. It will mostly cost you some dollars. Beginners like myself offer free readings on online platforms to get practice and perfect the craft(it is a craft). But most readers charge because it’s energetically draining. And time consuming. When I get to a stage where my accuracy rate is perfect, I will start charging (donation based) 😜.
Tarot reading is really helpful as it help people bring into perspective and focus what needs attention and helps them in decision making. It helps people move on from things and embrace positive change. Change that will be in their highest good. It’s really cool and I enjoy being able to do it.
If you’d like a reading, do feel free to contact me for a free reading. I will very much appreciate the opportunity to connect with you.
